NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSS

1897 : Netaji was born born on 23rd January,1897 in Cuttack as the ninth child of Shri Janaki Nath Bose and Smt. Prabhvati Devi. 1913 : He stood second in the School leaving examination and took admission in Presidency college, Calcutta. 1915 : He Passed Intermediate examination in first division. 1916 : Netaji was charged for misbehaving with British Professor and was resticated from Presidency college. 1917 : He got admitted in Scottish Church college in Philosophy Honours. 1919 : He got first class in Philosophy Honours and left for England to appear for the ICS examination. 1920 : He passed the then ICS examination in London with highest marks in English and standing 4th overall. 1921 : He got the prestigious tripos degree of Cambridge University. 1922 : He was released from jail on August 1, and then Joined Swarajya Dal under the leadership of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan in Gaya congress. 1923 : He was elected as the President of All India Youth Congress; Secretary of Bengal State Congress and Editor of the paper 'Forward', founded by Deshbandhu. 1924 : Swarajya Dal won Calcutta Municipality election. Henceforth, Deshabandhu was elected as the Mayor of Calcutta and Subhash Chandra became CEO. He was arrested again in October by the British Government. 1925 : Deshabandhu Chittaranjan Das passed away. 1927 : Netaji ,along with Pandit Nehru, was elected as the General Secretary of All India Congress Committee. 1928 : He formed the Volunteer organization in the Calcutta summit of Indian Congress and was elected as the General Officer in Command. 1930 : He was Jailed in January again and was elected as the Mayor of Calcutta Corporation while in Jail. 1931 : On 23rd March, Shaheed Bhagat Singh was hanged. This was probably the point when Netaji parted ways with Gandhiji. 1932-36 : He met reputed personalities like Mussolini in Italy, Felder in Germany, D. Valera in Ireland and Roma Rolland in France. 1936 : He returned to India on 13th April and was arrested in Bombay (Now Mumbai). 1936-37 : He was later released in March and started for Europe wherein he published 'Indian Struggle'. 1938 : He was elected as the President of Indian Congress at Haripura. He was felicitate in Shantiniketan by Rabindra Nath Tagore. 1939 : He was re-elected as the President of Indian Congress after defeating Gandhiji's candidate Sitaramaiyya by 1580-1371 votes. Later on he was expelled founded Forward Block. 1940 : He was again arrested and finally put into house arrest as his health deteriorated because of fasting. 1941 : On Jan 7th 1941, he escaped and reached Germany via Afghanistan and Russia. 1941 :On 9th April 1941, he submitted a memorandum to the German government, which outlined a plan for co-operation between the Axis powers and India. 1941 : In November, Free India Centre and Free India Radio were established. 1942 : He formed the first Indian Legion to fight the Imperial powers. 1943 : He started for Japan by submarine (This was the only man to man transfer between submarines during the IInd WW. ). He reached Tokyo and delivered the speech on air in Tokyo.
He formed the Azad Hind Government on October 21 In December 1943 the ceremonial transfer of the Andaman & Nicobar islands took placed (and were subsequently renamed as Shaheed and Swaraj). 1944 : The Azad Hind Fauz approached the Arakan front and war broke out near Imphal and Azad Hind took control of Kohima-Imphal. 1945 : Japan surrendered after the devastating nuclear attack on it, effectively ending the IInd WW.
A few days later it was reported that Netaji died in a plane crash, though exact proofs have not yet been found.
